Eyelet Curtain

Eyelet curtain have a slight advantage over other designs in that they’re simpler and a little less fiddly to hang. They don’t require additional curtain rings; they just slide directly onto the curtain pole.

Spacing for eyelet curtain

Distance between eyelet rings is usually 150mm to 200mm. Eyelets are positioned approximately 5cm from top edge of curtain (to top of inner diameter of eyelet ring).

Size of Eyelet Curtain

The diameter of the inside of an eyelet ring (or grommet) is normally 40mm. The ideal diameter of a metal curtain pole for eyelets is 28mm. So if your pole is 28mm diameter or slightly smaller then it will be fine for your eyelet curtains. If you are wondering how many eyelets per curtain you will need, when placing the 36mm Eyelet Rings we recommend 9 rings per metre (approx. 2 times fullness) but don’t forget when calculating how many rings you require, you should always add up to an even number for each curtain.

How you choose eyelet curtains

For eyelet curtains, measure from the top of the pole, down to your preferred drop. Take a look at our curtain buying guide for more information on what length might work best for you. Note that for windows over radiators, the curtains should end 2-3cm above the top of the radiator.
